Killing yourself in Thailand

Today there was another jumper death in Chiang Mai (see picture below) this happened this afternoon at a shop on Loi Kroh. I couldn’t imagine killing myself and doing it this way just seems I dunno, painful? Most people might see a picture like that and immediately assume that he was pushed or tripped and fell anything but the obvious, he jumped.

killing yourself in thailand

This year already I know of 3 jumpers and this is just Chiang Mai, if I plotted them all over a map all over Thailand over the years the number would be in the hundreds, if not a thousand of deaths!

Jumping isn’t the only way people kill themselves either, since living here I’ve known guys who have shot themselves, jumped off the bridge into the ping river, the tall Duang Tawan hotel is a popular place to die and some guys may have just killed themselves like the idiot who robbed the SCB bank right near Thapae gate his getaway vehicle? A a rented motorbike.

This one guy years ago I met just moved to Thailand from the USA actually proposed to this Thai bird having never been to Thailand before, comes here marries this girl and starts a small restaurant. I thought the guy was weird, but wow that was like the dumbest thing I’d ever heard of at the time. But everyone here is kinda weird so you don’t think much of it. 6 weeks later he was dead. And his wife? I saw her with a new guy a few weeks later, then another guy and another guy and another guy….

Hey I’m sure people are killing themselves all the time all over the world it’s just weird how many people come here to do it, one last HooRah before signing out?

Apparently this guy today was googling how to kill himself before jumping….so if you’re reading this trying to kill yourself don’t, get rid of that bitch, read this website and start living your life man. If you still wanna do it, no worries, leave a comment before you go.

he’s got a camera around his neck? are we ‘assuming’ he jumped? must have been a tall building but there are not many in Loi Khru (dungtawan maybe?)

Yeah it was pretty clear he jumped it wasn’t that high but more the way he fell. I seen another strange one a few weeks ago where it was like impossible for someone to push him or even to be an accident. I can’t mention where this happened unfortunately.
