Secrets Pattaya Back in Business

In Thailand there is the law and then there are ways around the law and it seems if you have a successful business in Thailand no matter how illegal it actually is you'll find a way to keep it going and we can just assume it's done by cash.

You may or may not remember about a month ago the Secrets bar in Pattaya was raided under allegations that the manager was pimping girls out. Wow big shocker there! I've been to Secrets and it's just like everywhere else really except they have their rooms attached to the club right so you can bar fine the girl and take her to the room right there. Now I don't recommend anyone opening a club and having the deed go down on premises but the owners of Secrets with their Vegas style club t-shirts beer cups and stuff don't seem to mind in fact they are flaunting the law.

Think about it if you owned a club and the girls are bar fineable and go somewhere else you're not really responsible for what goes down that's between the girl and the guy once they leave the premises. However if it goes down on premises and the girl works for you, you've gotta be responsible right?

None of that really matters now since I got the following email:

Hi thaisold,

Around a month ago we had a bit of a major sting put on us. We cannot comment publicly about what happened, only to say that's it's all cleared up now. And everything is running as normal. Thank you for your understanding.

The 6th Year party is going to be huge, with many guys confirmed

Thank you all for your support of Secrets. We look forward to seeing you all soon

We do still have some rooms available for July/August - You can book on the website www.SecretsPattaya.com  - Book asap to avoid disappointment

Enjoy Life and Have fun

Secrets Team

Hmmm, isn't it funny how you always see these big profile busts go down and then nothing, you never hear about the sentencing or actually what happened to the case do you? That's because nothing does happen. So even though the manager and the mamason were caught prostituting the girls in the club and were arrested they've sorted it all out? Come on guys how do you sort it out eh? They were caught red handed and in fact If I went in there today on another sting I'd find the same stuff that's been going on for the past 6 years this place has been opened. Sure everywhere in pattaya is like this but the fact that the deeds go down on premises make it too easy to catch.

I doubt very much the mamasan or the manager are very unlikely to see any time and the Secrets club is going to continue to operate. If this was the western world the place would be shut down immediately, if it were Australia where you can actually get a license to run this place and an underage girl was found it would still be shut down, but even though this isn't the western world it's still Thailand and Thailand still has laws and it's clear that this place is breaking the law each and every day yet nothing will ever change this.

Secrets Pattaya

Might sound like I have a problem with this club well yeah I kinda do, like I said I don't like how they Vegas style it with t-shirts and a souvenir shop, i mean honestly the place is a brothel no matter how much they dress it up with coffee cups with their logo on it. People go there for one thing we know that but do you have to have a souvenir shop as well?

The manager in this case should have gone to jail because he took the cash, i mean he should just be locked up for stupidity in the first place. Isn't there a pimp training manual somewhere for Pattaya or do I need to write one? So yeah whatever he should be locked up for stupidity and Secrets should be closed for flaunting the law. "We are not allowed to comment publicly" they said only question I have left is how much did that cost?

I don’t understand your problem with Secrets. Its not like they are flouting the law more than other establishments. In fact they manage to make the business a little more classy than most of their competitors.

I don’t like their Vegas style souvenirs they can make it as classy as they can but in the end it’s just a brothel full of dark Isaan girls just like any other place right,

    Hey Chris

I’ve never been to secrets so I’ll take your word for it that it’s a bit trashy over the top Vegas style!! I don’t get your point though about the rooms being attached!! You go to any of the Soi 6 bars, they all have rooms upstairs where u can take the girls!! That’s why it’s known as the best street in Pattaya if you want to ST a girl!! So if that’s illegal are all these bars bribing police / officials to leave em alone ? I don’t get your point that’s all

    Cheers Chris

P.s read ur website all the time very informative, but first time I’ve posted !!

Soi 6 is what it is it’s not pretentious like this place is. Soi 6 gets raided all the time because of this exact reason, the rooms are attached.

    Chris,

hmmm. I have been to Secrets 2 times. Never BF’d etc. I understand that is a bit more “mirrors and chrome” than you like. Personally I think it is a nice place to sit and have a drink with friends if you need to be down by WS. They do sell kitch and market themselves as few others know how to do. It seems this might be a bigger target than others because it looks to do well as compared to other bars nearby, run by foreigners, and has a big marketing campaign. Jealousy and whatnot. I do think it is funny that other bars have nudity and see-through 2nd floors etc (which I like btw) and they don’t seem to have the same things happen.
Paying the bills in Pattaya doesn’t necissarily protect from northern boys coming down (at the request of the competition) and spoiling the fun.
I know your style is to promise noodles for sex and then welch (just teasing you, I actually admire your skills), but some people do like a bit of the fun on tap in a nice place like Secrets down in Pattaya.

It appears you may have a specific problem with Secrets as you have stated BUT you should also mention this is just one place of probably more than 500 places that are similar in nature, If you don’t like places selling things such as what you classify souvenirs then I guess Pattaya addicts are similar also as they get donations off members and then they use the members donations to advertise their business which is just how to and where to get prostitution in Thailand

Your comments are outragous and lack factual basis.

There is a motel based at the same venue. They run as seperate entities and the motel follows the same check in requirmeents of all other motels in Pattaya.

As for your advice about the requiremnts of prostitiution auithority lkicences in Australia it suspiciously looks like you are giving legal advice. Are you a legal professionals and giving advcie purust5ant to the Legal Professional Act. if not are you aware that you are in fact commiting an offence under that same act.

If you had ever been to secrets which I doubt you would be aware that the story as reported appears to be factually incorrect. Monies are not handed to mamasans ofr any other person fro services just barfines and bins.

You should also be reminded that publiciation via intertent is covered under defamation laws so if I was you I would try to be a little bit more honest in your comemnts int he future.

Total BS bro, for a lawyer man you have worse spelling than me! I’ve been to secrets they never asked me for a passport when i took the girl for short time! The story reported says the money was handed to the manager, I base my opinion on the story and if he did handle the money the guys an idiot and deserves to get busted. And as a person who works in a law firm you should be reminded that you commenting on a story about a well known brothel in Pattaya Thailand doesn’t look good for your image as for my image, well I don’t really care.

That’s way more clever than I was expcteing. Thanks!

I am an English Language teacher and can tell you that you need to go back to school, because your (mis)spelling leads us to believe you are uneducated, and thus, your comments have no place on this upstanding forum.

hmmm im dont quite get where the gripe is with secrets either. Pattaya is Pattaya – Thailand is place where corruption is the law, we all know that and most of us live here because hey, its more fun that way – the day it changes will be the day it it becomes just like the west.
So they may sell a few coffee cups and T shirts as a keepsake for the mongerers to look at when they return back to their gloomy lives in a cold country, nothing wrong with that. and as for having ST rooms, bonus!

Your selling hotels, thai language courses, private membership, many blogs dont sell anything just give info without affilate ads, i dont have a problem with you making money from your blog, i would do the same. So i dunnow why you have a problem with them selling coffee cups and thinking the owner should be locked up lol.

p.s. when are the livingthai cofee cups,t shirts and wristbands gonna hit the site?

I went to Pattaya my first time in my early teens, you know what it was awesome then and it was real, this over priced hyped up vegas and california crap is what I came to Thailand to get away from. Once everyone starts copying what Secrets have done to it it’s all over. That’s how it’s going to go and has been going comparing it to my blog is a bit different though, I put the VIP into the site for a lot of reasons one being to keep the tourists from ruining my favorite places. other people give stupid advice or copy stuff that i’ve written (yeah lot of those now)
No coffee cups but I may do some T-shirts

    Chris,

This piece comes across as a bit of a rant… which can be entertaining too.

Still, why do you even bother with the seedy side of Pattaya, or any other seedy place in Thailand? Write about the prettier side instead.

Also, why call for arrests etc? It’s like the adage about liberals and conservatives and guns – conservatives who don’t like guns, they don’t buy any – a liberal who doesn’t like guns wants them banned.

If you don’t like it, and it’s no skin off your nose, look the other way.

I spent a month at Secrets back in 2007, and greatly enjoyed, but since then things have gone steadily down. The place is less fun and more serious, nickel and diming, and the girls have that “my pussy is gold” attitude. Pass.

Can’t see what all the fuss is about, just another disguised brothel full of geriatric farang’s and young thai prostitutes, oh sorry i meant to say coyote dancers.

When I ran a bar close to Walking Street in Pattaya and at various times a couple of bars in Hua Hin and Patong I looked upon the inevitable “extra” payments to those in authority as the equivalent of Community Charge in the UK or business rates. Whilst the police can make things awkward as illustrated above they do occasionally come in useful. I had a group of around 15 very drunk rugby playing farangs who became annoyingly boisterous one evening. I guessed that things would escalate once they decided to check bin. The girls as usual had a handle on things and kept the lid on the situation but the likelihood was things may escalate somewhat. Out of nowhere (I had no idea who called them) a couple of Pattaya’s finest arrived on the scene with a couple of the volunteer police. They dealt with the situation quickly and professionally and the boisterous crew were left in no doubt who was running the show. I would like to think assistance was forthcoming because our “business rates” were fully up to date and paid. One thing is for certain, the fee for ongoing law enforcement cover was considerably cheaper than what i woukd have paid for snowflake plod in the UK.
