How does the Timeshare scam work in Thailand

Timeshare scammers tend to pray on tourists and the entire scam is more often than not run by a foreigner. Typically they work by offering scratchies to tourists (if you live here they will not give you the scratchy). The scratchie is just like one of the lottery scratchies and everyone wins something, the scam is though you have to go with them to watch some sort of movie or demonstration first in order to claim your prize.

Typically they have scripts for each country you come from and the scam be writen using dollar amounts from the country your from. They offer you to buy into their lifetime membership timeshare where you get weeks holiday at various non-existant resorts around thailand, Phuket is a big Timeshare scam place.

All of these timeshare scam companies are opperating illegally as well as the people who are doing the scamming do not have visa's to work in Thailand, they will sell you a worthless piece of paper and vouchers that mean nothing.

I don't know one reputable Timeshare company in Thailand so my advice to you is to not get into this sort thing. Nothing in life is free so if you think your going to win a weeks accomodation at a fabulous hotel think again, all you'll get are coupons to a hotel located in the jungle but there is nothing there just jungle. I've told you now, so beware!

I am really surprised to hear this . As I know there are reputable timeshare companies . Timeshares have actually gotten a bad rap because of scammers , BUT not all timeshares are scams . This is a fact. I work in South Florida and actually was looking online to possibly find a job in Thailand to sell vacation ownership . Chris , can you contact me ?

Timeshares are clearly not for most people, however, they are constantly offered to anyone who is on vacations. Although there are lots of people who agree going to the presentation just to get the freebies, unfortunately, many of them end up falling for the trap.
