The Best Jazz Clubs In Bangkok

I really enjoy Jazz especially with a nice drink but sometimes I just don't feel like getting all dressed up to go to one, and that's what you feel like in the Bangkok Jazz scene. Nonetheless there are some really great jazz bands local and international acts in Bangkok and this is the list of the Best Jazz clubs in Bangkok.

Bamboo Bar

Sun-Thu 11am-1am, Fri & Sat 11 am-2am

This 50 year jazz club in Bangkok is still going strong the Bamboo Bar is like a blast from the past the room has this jungle theme with bamboo, palms, and furry patters. It's not big but it's busy.

Brown Sugar

In a new location near Khao San road this legendary jazz venue, the front of the building looks really great kind of like an old school cinema but the action comes alive on this inside with 6 house bands and loads of space, Brown Sugar gets a lot of quality international acts.

Sun-Thu 6pm - 1am; Fri & Sat 6pm - 2am

I like the funky stylish decor and teak sofas and the chandelier hanging over the massive round bar just looks right in this legendary jazz bar in Bangkok. Must go for happy Hour 4-7pm. Real embassy crowd lots of suits.

The Living Room

9am-12am

Definitely the place to recline in leather couches sipping on some cognac, the living room is a very stylish place typically of an older crowd. The band here is really good.

Niu's on silom

5pm - 1am

Looks like a place you'd see straight out of New York and a really good choice for those wanting to just step into the Jazz scene in Bangkok.

    Hi Chris

Sorry….off the topic a little… but still regarding music,I was wondering if you know if Took has the new “Brasserie” up and running? I am a fan of blues, rock blues, jazz blues,Chicago style etc. and Took ( often with other talented people) used to put on a pretty good show at the old place.
    Cheers
p.s. another 10 days and I’ll be back !! Yin Dee maak !

Black (Jazz???) on soi 33 , has third string musicians at best , the trumpet player come singer, sings out of tune , and plays the trumpet only fair , his back up band is amateurish and on top of it all they charge 200baht cover per person (two people and three beers will cost you 1000baht) not worth the visit …… no food or snacks other than peanuts ….. again not worth the visit , the supposed owner/trumpet player has no personality either…dull

Saxophone still the best. Black on 33 is a bad joke. Leave well alone. It’s a room not a commercial venue

Ditto about Black!!!! Really bad musicians …….. and a 200 baht cover per person to boot …… a no go !!!!

The info is a bit old.. There is no jazz in Bamboo Bar since 2014.. Living Room in Sheraton is overpriced and there is playing one and the same band.. Brown Sugar is half empty, after they have moved from Lumpini park to the new address.. glass house with beton walls, bad acoustic.. Saxophone pub is ok, but the music which is running there is not jazz.. anyway there are several good bands playing in the week..but the schedule is all through the same.. Black has been closed long ago.. For those who really like jazz, must follow the artists playing , because the most interesting bands play jazz not in the pure jazz bars, but in the venues, where is mixed Music. My advice : Keithen Carter , sings between Iron Fairies and Maggie Choo, Steve Cannon (trumpet) plays in Apoteka Soi 11 on Sundays and sometimes in Maggie Choo, Silom. Eli Keepnis (sax) plays in Whisgars 23 (Asoke) on Fridays or Saturdays with soul jazz and sometime with blues bands . Clifton Hardy sings on thursdays at “Above Eleven”. Those who like sessions are welcome on sundays between 3-6pm to Check Inn 99 in Sukhumvit 5-7.
