As I’ve been traveling all over Thailand I’ve noticed something that I often don’t talk about. Some people may say good Thai girls or Bad Thai girls and even I talk about getting laid for the cost of a bowl of noodles or how to bang a Thai girl within 3 hours. For the average tourist that’s all you really need to know. However live here, and you’ll find that it’s much more complex than that, especially if you really want a real relationship.
While there are exceptions to any rule I’ve found that there are really two types of Thai girls, you’ve got the City girl with the iPhone and nice clothes, witty, sometimes slutty and for all intensive purposes are easy. While their country sisters are more shy timid and unless you’re willing to marry them are not going to give it up easy, if ever.
City Girls
There’s something about living in a city no matter where you are in the world you are. But in Thailand that could mean that you are away from your parents and have much more freedom and peer pressure than you do if you’re back on the village. Most people in Thailand are not born in the city they are born in the country, then migrate to the Big Smoke. Living in a city can make you hardened as well, and some Farang on vacation tricking a girl into his apartment is probably just going to get the “oh well” and move on.
When I say city girls doesn’t mean she has to be in one of the big 4 either Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Phuket, Pattaya, city girls are those who live in what they call in Thailand “ในเมือง” Nai Meaung is basically the center of the city/town and however far that extends out. There are 77 provinces in Thailand each province has a ในเมือง some even have multiple.
It’s important to note that most Thai girls in universities can be called “city girls” simply because they “want to be a city girl”.
What I find is most guys find a city girl and then want to make her a girlfriend. This is the wrong approach, most city girls are what they call in Thailand “ล้าลา” meaning that go from one guy to the other. The city girl wants something now, the country girl wants something for the future. You can still find great city girls and if you need a strong woman that is independent and doesn’t need YOU then why bother with a Thai you may as well stay back home.

Picking up City girls is a lot easier to do it’s more likely you’ll pull from the club but most definitely don’t expect a virgin or something long term either. There’s a lot more work involved in City girls lots more competition not just from the Thai’s but the other Farang. City girls however will speak more English and are first choice for newbies to Thailand.
Country Girls
Unless you’ve actually been to the Moo Barn of a small village in Thailand it’s going to be difficult for you to really understand what it’s like. Put simply it’s likely that the entire moo barn is related somehow, everyone knows everyone and nothing is private, you’ll see people randomly talking under trees surrounding the houses because people live at least 6 to a household and privacy is something you can only get if you go to a curtain hotel or go sit in the field. You’ll feel as though no one is really doing anything it’s very slow, lots of old people lots of kids and those in their 20’s,30’s,40’s noticeably absent.
There is a real sense of community and family that you often don’t see in the city especially if you’re in apartment buildings which are full of migrants. There’s not much to do in the country except for complain about the heat, work on the farm or shoot yourself with a handgun which is what I’d probably do if I had to live there. Don’t get me wrong it’s OK and all that but it’s not my time. I do however like the idea of collecting guns watching the grass and cockfighting.
Much goes to the parents of the girls you meet, if their parents follow strict Thai customs and the girl is good she will still be a virgin by the time she’s 18.
Thai customs say that you must get engaged to a girl before you are able to spend time alone with her. That even means going to the movies with her, she’ll be chaperoned all the time. To get engaged just like in the west you’ll need to give her a ring or cash. That’s right cash, depends on what part of the country you are in you can get a girl fresh off the farm for less than what you would spend out on a wild night in Bangkok.
Do you really want to marry a girl, probably not, that’s why I actually wrote this article to let you in on some of my most valuable advice….
Don’t ever go to the Moo Barn unless you are prepared to marry a girl.
Honestly unless you’re intrenched in the community and get to know all the households then it’s almost impossible to get to know the right girl. The internet has improved the game. If you’re after a girl who is a little loose and has some freedom to be unchaperoned I suggest you look in the Nai Meaung for local clubs, want a good girl never been kissed then Try Thai Love Links don’t use Thai Friendly because Thai’s have got the idea that Thai Friendly is just for friends and Thai Love Links is for finding a boyfriend.
What are the majority of Thai girls?
If you live in the City and/or read this blog you’ll probably think that most Thai girls are city girls but this isn’t true. Most are country girls won’t give it up unless you’ve got engaged especially if they are still virgins, in fact most country girls are still virgins not simply because they want to be but because there is really little to no opportunity girls are chaperoned nearly everywhere.
