I’ve lived in Thailand for four years now and I’ve seen a lot of scams perpetrated against Thai girls. This article while it might sound like a how to guide into scamming money out of Thai girls it’s merely written as a warning to how Thai girls can get scammed, and some for their life savings.
Before I begin I’ll just say that scamming money out of Thai girls is much simpler than Farang girls because of the lack of education and the idolization of Farang to some girls. Simply put Thai girls think all Farang guys are rich and trustworthy they only see the TV shows and movies and think that bad people don’t go to Thailand. They are mistaken and guys are scamming millions of baht every year out of unsuspecting gullible Thai girls. These scams do not necessarily need to made by contacts through the Internet it could work with any girl as long as you have her phone number and some sort of repoire with her.
Here are some of those scams:
Free dinner and bonus sex
As far as I know no Thai man is pulling this scam. Basically you wait for a big ass concert to hit town. You print up some fake tickets and take a photo of them. Now you randomly contact girls and ask them if they’d like to go to the concert for free, but only if they buy you dinner. Most girls who really want to go to the concert will pay for dinner, after dinner you tell them to seal the deal, they must go home and sleep with you. By this time the’re invested already after paying for your expensive meal. If not you still get a meal out of it. Afterwards you call them to say that the tickets you bought were fakes and you can’t go now they feel sorry for you and don’t think you scammed them.
Need money for hotel
Actually this scam is the reason why I’m writing this article. Girl rings me up today and says “Chris I need your advice”. I’m like sure tell me what’s going on….She then proceeds to tell me how this farang guy she’s talking to and has been talking to for a few weeks says that his company didn’t pay him in time and he has no money for a few days. He’s going to see her and is in another province and needs money for hotel and bus to go see her. He has nowhere to sleep.
The girl who called me about this was genuinely concerned about him and wanted to help him out but she doesn’t have 5000 baht. Then i’m thinking what do you need 5000 baht for a hotel you can’t stay in one for 400 baht? But that’s the scam isn’t it!
The ultimate Airport Scam (requires 2people)
This scam works on Thai girls better than any other scam I know of and I know personally 6 girls who have been done by this and the funny thing is they are not as angry as I would be if it happened even years later.
So this scam starts off on the dating site where the English speaking guy starts talking to girls on the Internet, his MO would be ladies over 30y/o who would have some savings in the bank, the younger girls typically don’t. The scammer usually takes his time with these girls not rushing anything in a few days, he develops a strong relationship with the girl over 1-3 months before trying to actually pull the scam. He most always contacts the girl every single day over this period, Thai girls tend to rush things to if he can manage 30 hours of her time over a period of a month or more she will be ready.
How the Airport scam works
After developing a strong relationship with the Thai girl and she has said she loves him the scammer then tells the girl he’s coming to Thailand on business and bringing some samples of whatever it is he’s selling.
The day of arrival of the scammer the Thai girl receives a phone call from him apparently at the airport. There is a problem with customs and he has to pay for duty on the business samples around 15-30,000 baht. His card is in his apartment in Bangkok and he has no money on him, can she transfer the money to the account here and then pay her back when he get’s to his apartment. He then hands the phone number to the customs official at the airport who is really just another scammer typically the scammers Thai girlfriend. She get’s on the phone and get’s real pushy with the girl making her believe that he really does need the money. If the girl has the money in her account and she believes him the scammer walks away with almost $1000 dollars.
Scammers who do this scam can net 5-10 customers a month making it very profitable for them.
