What is a sponsor?
A sponsor is typically an older gentleman (though not always the case) who trades money or gifts for the ongoing company of a Thai woman / girl. Usually the company entitles sex but doesn’t have to be. The sponsor of a Thai girl is typically a western male who has the means to keep the company of the Thai girl. Sponsoring a Thai girl doesn’t mean she’ll be faithful for you nor does it mean she’ll be around when you want her either, but there are ways to ensure that you get what you want.
How much does it cost to sponsor a Thai girl?
I’ve heard radical stories of guys giving their sponsor up to 100,000 baht per month. This is ridiculous, the average Thai wage is 6,000-8,000 baht per month so why someone would need that much is beyond me. I’m a foreigner and live comfortably in Thailand for 20-30,000 per month so anymore than what I’m making is just absurd. How much a sponsor gets depends really on where you found the girl and not so much on where she is from and her family position in society. I’ve have a sponsor who came from a rich family who was attracted to being a sponsor because it gave her status within her friends group. For some reason her friends were jealous that she had a foreign sponsor so that gave her more motivation to be a sponsor.
If you find a girl in a beer bar or go-go club you’ll be expected to pay no less than 30,000 per month, and this does not guarantee that she won’t still be working at those places either, actually chances are she’ll be more motivated to work at a bar in the chance that she’ll find another sponsor, the girls at bars targeting foreigners are the most expensive and most unreliable sponsor you can find in Thailand. Your better off sponsoring the night than more than that it’ll just cause you pain.
Thai girls you find on the Internet on English language dating sites are also expensive, typically they have a high level of English, have better education, and are more interested in the big prize (marriage) than they are of finding a sponsor, you can find them though, I actually found 2 girls 18 and 19 who were willing to move to another district (together though they didn’t know each other and were happy enough to just get an apartment and enough money to eat. Typically these girls are runaways and/or have sever problems at home.
The cheapest sponsors you can find are Thai university students, these girls have only two things in mind, studying and getting good grades, as well as partying and having the latest gadget to show off to their friends. Typically the ones who want a sponsor are those who really are determined to finish school but their parents are having trouble paying the bills, these girls are the ones you want, their eager to please young, and will be extremely grateful for your generosity. Usually you can get away with sponsoring a Thai university girl for less than 10,000 per month, i typically wouldn’t pay more than 6,000 and that includes rent, any more than that and your asking for trouble.

Most single Thai girls are good candidates for sponsorship, though meeting them is always tricking and that’s only half the problem, then you have to somehow convince them that a sponsorship deal is better than a full time girlfriend, but that’s a different story.
The best place to meet girls for sponsorship i believe is through the Internet, it’s become acceptable nowadays for girls to find a sponsor over the Internet. And I’m not talking about a Thai dating site, I’m talking about chat rooms for Thais, in Thai language! But you don’t read Thai? Doesn’t matter, hire someone to do the grunt work for you, not so hard, just put an ad in the local English newspaper or website for someone to do translation work then explain you want to find a sponsor and that you need them to find one online for you and set up a meeting. If you do speak/read/type Thai like i do, you’ll find you’ll get better deals.
I’ve found a Thai girl to sponsor, now what?
I’m pretty sure you can fill in the blanks on this question, what you want to do is find someone who needs a place to stay so you can set them up in a cheap apartment somewhere, if you want more than one you’ll have to be upfront at the start so that they stay where you pay for and the next girl has to stay at the same place, often they won’t want any funny business at the same time however they will almost all agree to sleeping together without doing anything, after a while it get’s easier to have them do what you want. Manipulating a thai girl is easy if you know what to do.
Sponsorship typically goes for a one year contract, but you need to give 3 month terms. Always say you have 3 months that way you have a better bargaining chip after the 3 month contract. Always have the apartment in the Thai girls name and not yours! Don’t worry about them running off with the deposit, most girls are smart enough to know that it won’t get them that far anyway, you want 3 month terms so you can bargain for more rights and extras.

Fear is your weapon, money is your tool! Remember this and you’ll do fine.
For those who really don’t give a shit and love the playboy lifestyle this is what you want to read. I’ve had 2 even 3 girls at the same time all know each other, they even go shopping and eat together, some have even splept together and lived together and when i show up it’s party on! I typically don’t even pay much either if anything. So how do I do it? It’s simple BE HONEST! Don’t hold back, explain exactly what you want, and if she say’s no, don’t worry, sponsor her then hold it over her head and she’ll do it. They all do, just be firm, be a man, and don’t give a fuck about them, they will do what you want if you be honest and straightforward. They are used to being lied to, so don’t do this, be open about the other girls your seeing and sleeping with if you lie once, they will lie 3 times. Even if you are honest like this don’t expect them to be though, always keep your eye open at all times.
How to keep a Thai girl on a short leech!
Thai girls are really bad liers, i know when someone is lieing to me, even when i don’t want to believe it. But sponsoring a girl that you don’t live with and you arn’t around all the time is leaving the ball open for her to screw around on you, believe me, they will.
If a Thai girl starts talking about some farang guy she met down at 7 eleven and she seems overly happy about it, yeah she did something wrong. If she turns her phone off when your around, yeah she’s don’t something wrong. If she closes her computer when you arrive, yeah she’s don’t something wrong.
First thing you want to do is just act ignorant! Second you want to do is employ one or more of the following tactics.
- Buy a motorbike equip it with GPS don’t tell her then say she can use the bike.
- Buy a new mobile phone and sim card, give it to her as a present and put 2000 baht on the sim card. She might keep the other card, but she will now be using this one, make sure you register the sim so that you can track phone calls.
- If you rent an apartment DO NOT rent one near a shopping mall or anywhere near tourist areas or where foreigners stay, your asking for trouble!
If you do find out that your thai girl was unfaithful, well you are a lucky guy now! Why do i say lucky? She just cheated on you. Man your going to learn something now, this is your perfect bargaining chip! Now you can reduce the amount of money you give her, you can get more out of her because of what she done and you can say it’s over unless you agree to do some kinky 3 way action with her best friend. Trust me, the best thing that can happen with a Thai Girl sponsee is to find out she has cheated on you, don’t get wound up, hell how many times a week you cheat on her?
Final Thoughts
Sponsoring a Thai girl is in many ways better than having a Thai girlfriend, it won’t last forever (it can though) but you can have great fun and most of the time you can do it during the day when the wifey is out at work.
