How John Chow helped me build this blog

If you don't know who John Chow is then you probably are not in the Internet marketing space. But even if you don't know who the hell John Chow is doesn't matter, you know this blog and you know how successful it's been and most of it has to do with help from John Chow.

When I first began making websites for myself about a year and a half ago now I had two aims really. First was to share all the information I know about Thailand in particular Chiang Mai and also to make a few dollars out of it too. Since then I've grown my network into 35 different websites that make an income this month close to 200,000 baht. It wasn't easy but the biggest help and influence I had was from John Chow.

John now lives in the OC close to where I used to live funny that he moved there when I moved out! But he's also kind of a blogger celebrity. His blog makes over $40,000 USD a month! Imagine living in Thailand on that kinda of money!

John Chow

To be honest with you I'm just a boring .Net programmer and don't know anything about Internet marketing and making money online, well that was until I read John's Blog. He was an inspiration, I mean if some guy from China who's English still has an Asian accent can do it then hell why can't I?

The thing about John is he makes his money by telling you how to make money online, and with a line like that you wonder how he does it at all. But he does and his njew product is so packed with information if after going through his instructions you don't make money out of it then you prettty much have no hope at all.

This past week John Launched a new product called "Blogging with John Chow". This product is basically a step-by-step tutorial on how to monetize your blog, get it ranked in the search engines. Is this a scam? Obviously not! John Chow is THE MAN when it comes to making money online from your blog and if you have a blog and it's going nowhere you can always sign up to the VIP area and get access to my book How to make money in Thailand which has a chapter that is a condensed version of what John Chow talks about but his new programming Blogging with John Chow goes into complete depth on how to start a successful blog.

yeah the same john chow who got johnchow.com BANNED from Google at its peak.

That’s true, he got banned for years because he was selling links, kind of, but even with zero search engine traffic he still was able to make money.

How many hours per day does a blogger work? Is it fun work or is it the type that makes you want to put a bullet in your head? For me getting my thoughts into words comes very easy and I actually enjoy puting it down on ‘paper’.

So, what is bloggin anyway? I am a very ignorant person when it comes to

But I do like getting high, watching girls and articulating my thouughts as they come to me. However, as soon as I reach out to a girl, then the blood flow to my brain stops. All my effort will be spent in keeping the conversation alive and humerous. Thinking and writing becomes impossible.

Most bloggers I know probably spend about 2 hours a day on their blogs, me i probably spend about 6 hours a day but I have 3 main blogs this one included. If you write about something you love then it’s fun it’s not like the desk job I had in the USA which made me want to put a bullet in my head.
I guess blogging is similar to a journal but it’s more public.

      So, what is bloggin anyway?

When it comes to “blogging to make a living” I think it’s a lot of blog posts with titles that mimic search queries, for example “Best Hotels in Phuket” or “Samsung Galaxy Review” with affiliate links to Agoda, Amazon, or similar (for the “products” mentioned).

If you’re successful at it, or successful at something else, you can sell an ebook about it, and make plenty of references to that in your blog posts — again, this should be blog posts with titles that are close to search terms (e.g. “how to pickup girls” or “make money on the internet”) and make the purchase of your ebook sound like the easy way to achieve what is described in the blog post.

The “blogging with John Chow” link via clickbank isn’t working.

All these websites about how to make money online have one thing in common: lot of links to other useless websites and e-books and seminars about how to setup similar websites (that all contain links to the first one). Besides that they contain little or no useful information. The whole business model seems to built o thin air and looks very much like a pyramid scheme.

    Hey bro,

Is your other blog the KOT website?

I made more than 300,000 THB a month until recently. Then got hit by Google, now only on par to make 100K this month. Pretty shitty, difficult to get yourself motivated to start new sites.

I like the way this blog works with monetization and the like, I guess you’re not that dependent on Google or you’re getting lots of longtail. I’d also like to sell more of my own stuff, but I am in a small language market.

Anyway, the Agoda stuff at the bottom of your post is a clever idea, is it yours or Agoda’s? Does Agoda track and pay out like they should?

    • Chris December 11, 2012 at 4:41 am #

My sites were going down for 6months then google made some changes and traffic went up 300% accross my sites, who knows what they’re doing, google is BS. Agoda is a part of Priceline one of the best internet companies around and they pay well, most of my sites are monotized from Agoda. This business is up and down but hey 100K isn’t nothing to sneeze at, a lot of guys reading this blog would love to have your problem!

Curiosity is killing the cat, just out of interest what is your website?

I enjoy your blog and am still working on getting my butt over there. I was looking for some kind of plan or blueprint to help me build my sites. I checked out Blogging with John Chow and it was exactly what I’ve been looking for. Thanks Chris I had no idea however just how difficult it is in the beginning. There is a huge amount of stuff to learn. From PlugIns and cPanel to writing good content, seo, affiliate marketing and all thats involved. Without John’s Blogging course to keep me pointed in the right direction I’m pretty sure I’d be completely lost.

    • Chris January 3, 2013 at 6:27 am #

he really helped me out and hope his course helps you too.
