On 19:30 on 23 June Pattaya City, Chonburi police conducted a series of raids on drug dealers and the dealers gave up the address of someone was trying to sell an M-16 rifle (apparently to help in his defence) which is considered to be a weapon of war the gun was selling for 25,000 baht.

Police then conducted an investigation and set up a sting to catch the person selling the gun at the address given Village 3 Soi Yai Lia Moo 5, Tambon Nong Prue, Banglamung, Chonburi.

The woman who tried to sell the M-16 to the undercover agents before the arrest and found in the trunk of her car the gun as well as 28 bullets and two magazines. Police uncovered that the son of the woman had previously been busted and put in jail for the possession of 600 meth tablets and was in jail when the old lady went to visit her she asked what to do for money so her son told her to sell the gun. Only after the arrest was it revealed the age of the woman who is actually 50 years old.

It's unknown at this stage where the 27y/o purchased the gun but this kind of weapon is highly illegal and even though the mans mother tried to sell the gun it was his and this will be yet another charge to the man and will likely do even more years in jail because of the implication of his mother was well of the possession of a weapon of war.
