Getting Robbed In your Hotel By a Thai Girl

For as long as I've been coming to Thailand I must have heard the same old story on each trip, "Man gets robbed by Thai girl in his room". It's a little embarrassing actually that this happens over and over and over again. How can so many guys be getting robbed by Thai girls. Even yesterday i talked to the tourist police about a man who got taken for goods worth 50,000 baht!

Getting Robbed while you sleep is the most common scenario. Man meets Thai girl, Man is nice to Thai Girl, Thai girl is super nice to man, then while his asleep....Bam! He wakes up with the door still open minus any laptop, cell phone, cash, pretty much anything of value in your room is gone, nice jacket resting on the chair, gone!

How is it that so many men are being robbed, is it carelessness on the foreigners part, or is it really Thai Girls are conniving. Let's take a look at a few scenarios of how men get robbed by Thai girls.

#1
I'm walking out of seven eleven and a young girl smiles and befriends me, I take her to dinner and she seems so sweet, I'm too perplexed why she likes me so I don't really care because she looks really hot and is into me, doesn't ask me for any money like the Thai Bar Girls so she must be a good person, that night I take her to my hotel room and wake up everything is great, I do like her though so I'll give her some money so she can do her hair or shopping what not. She goes home and everything is still in my pockets. Well I see her again maybe a few times more, and then one night i wake up and she's gone, so is my Ipod, laptop and 10,000 baht in cash, I've just been robbed. What went wrong?

#2
I'm walking down sukhimvit road after coming out of Nana Plaza drunk and still single I pick up the first girl I see on the road. I go back to my place hop into bed cuddle and everything is good, i wake up and all my stuff is gone, I've just been robbed. What went wrong?

#3
I've been hitting it hard at the clubs in Pattaya, a couple of girls befriend me and I party with them, i figure i'm being really nice to them buying drinks and everything, i'm pretty drunk but it's ok, because i've been nice to these girls they wouldn't rob me or let anything happen to me, it's 1am in the morning and we head back to my crumby guest house. I can't remember anything else except I wake up in the morning and I was robbed of 30,000 baht! What went wrong?

#4
I met a girl online in Chiang Mai, she has a tatoo when i met her, but hey so do I, that's my style. She's super fun for a thai girl, and her english is really good. We go out dancing and on tours and i don't know if she has a job but i don't care, i'm smitten, anyway we go back to my apartment and when i wake up, my laptop, iphone, kindle, and gold jewelry is gone. What went wrong?

These are just some of the stories I've heard, there must be a training guide for these theives because in most of the stories i've heard the girl leaves without closing the door, just doesn't want to wake the guy up I suppose. But the common theme is the guy has always met the girl randomly and never at a place she works at, that's because she doesn't work, she's working on you, Thai Girls are very sneeky and will make you feel like a million dollars, but some are just out to get as much money as they can and if your really not giving them much their likely to just take it from you.

How can I prevent myself by getting robbed by a Thai Girl

I know people who have been to Thailand 3-4 times a year for the past 25 years and have never been robbed, and I know other people who have been here 3 times and have been robbed several times. It's not about being lucky or unlucky it's following a little common sense and not being so trustworthy.

  1. Don't let anyone in your room without leaving their ID card at the front desk.
  2. Don't take anyone to wear your apartment is unless you know exactly where they work and a couple of their friends where their friends work and their full name.
  3. Don't think your getting something for free, I don't know any real Thai girls that will go back to your room first time you meet them without wanting something or have a plan to take it from you.
  4. I know you don't want to pay money where you don't have too, but if you don't bar fine the girl your just setting yourself up for problems.
  5. Don't get so drunk, most the stories of people getting robbed by thai girls is because they are plastered. Don't make yourself into a walking target and try to manage yourself.

If your reading this because you've just been robbed, condolences really, but you know yourself you were too trusting and brought it on yourself by not being more vigilant. You never know what a Thai girl has got planned with you and you should be a little less trusting. The ID card in thailand is key if you don't leave it with your hotel or guest house then your setting yourself up to get robbed. Noone will rob you if you have their ID card. What happens when you leave it with the office they write the number down on your file and then know who came into your room. If they rob you they'll have to hope they never get caught because the Thai police will catch them.

Once again a good article that I hope will save some unsuspecting soul from a nasty surprise. I’ve been here off and on since 2003 and since 2009 I live here part-year, and have never been robbed. I have had money stolen from me, so I guess I am splitting hairs here. The difference is the person doing the stealing was known to me and the staff, but by the time the theft was discovered she was gone and I had to let it go (I gave her 30,000 baht to pay 3 months rent on my apt with and she made up some song-and-dance to the staff about mother was sick) anyway it could have been MUCH worse: at least my credit cards and passport were not taken.

Once i unsuspecting paid a barfine for a ladyboy (mostly my own fault i now realise). I returned to the bar and demanded a refund or a real girl and was told they are not transferable. I had enough common sense to not get physical (was by myself with maybe 10 Thais working there). I said i would be back and hoped this at least would cause them some security hassles.
After seeing how Thais gang up on foreigners I’m glad i didnt take it further. Thais behave like a pack of territorial dogs in this situation.

Well, I just got stung a couple of nights ago; met this hot ass girl in soi 11, I didn’t think she was a working girl as she bought me drinks and took me to a club and didn’t ask me anything that led me to believe she was working, except that she was a real scorcher, but it wouldn’t have been fair to judge her as being working just because she had runaway looks. Anyway, after drinks and drinks and lots of dancing, we decided to go to another club which was a few minutes drive from my condo. A we were passing my place in the cab, she wanted to go to the bathroom so I told the driver to stop and she could use my bathroom. Boy did she use my bathroom alright. when she came out she suddenly felt very ill and said she wanted to go home and no longer wanted to go out to the club we both intended to go to. I thought it very strange, but then I wondered if she had maybe got her monthlys as she just finished up in the bathroom. The other thing I didn’t notice at the time was that she was standing very close to the door as thoUght she couldn’t wait to leave. anyway, I walked her out, even took the elevator down with her and back to the cab, gave her my number and she said she’d text me back.

Went back up stairs crashed out and slept like a dead man, but within three hours I had is nightmare and jumped outta bed with an urgent compulsion to look for my wallet. It was gone, i had £500 pounds in there for my rent, roughly 30000baht, all of it gone! Gone gone gone gone gone! I felt like beating myself up, nearly punched my own face and if had any idea about how to kick the crap outta myself I would’ve done! So now I’m broke this month as I’d used my remaining salary to draw the rent money again. I don’t know how she did it, but she must’ve seen me put my wallet in the bag at the bar, so when I put it on the chair that’s when she got it, she took the whole thing. credit cards and all. She must be having a good time somewhere partying with her easy earned, my hard earned, cash

Common sense really. I didn’t “pay” for five girls who stayed in my hotel. I knew they wasn’t getting anything because of my safety deposit box, I made sure they wasn’t looking when I put my stuff in the safe. I also made sure they left the ID at desk. Yes, they’re charming (or think they are) and they want something out of you but at the same time you’re using them. Don’t be the loser.

Lots of places don’t have safes nor safety deposit boxes i recommend staying at places that do. Also you’d be surprised how many guys leave their common sense at the airport.

So u feel good that u “used” them?

      • Michael June 10, 2013 at 1:39 pm #

I don’t feel “good”, no but why should I feel ashamed? They would have happily emptied my bank account and fled to a different country if they could. I just saw an opportunity to get cheap or free sex and took it.

You foreigners who are in Thailand are too soft when it comes to girls. You cant let your guard down, Just take a lock with you lock the draw with the valuables, otherwise don’t fricken bring her back to your apartment. Take her to a hotel.

ps; forget about love. Just pay your money and fuck.

Firstly Never Ever let a girl see how much money is in your wallet…And Never Ever tell her how much money you have or make!! (don’t brag boy) ..This will turn a normally sweet honest girl into a thief faster than you can say hey where’s my wallet!
Secondly if you take a shower with any thai girl or hooker in general, Always take your wallet with you.Always!! (learned this one the hard way)
Third have a room with a safe.. if you don’t have a safe, good luck.. tie some cans to the door so you can hear her when she tries to rob you..
Fourth… Thai girls are charming and lovely, but they are here to make money, they didn’t just fall in love with you after 20 mins or a day whatever…Be on your guard because they are opportunists…you can buy their entire village with one pay packet..they justify stealing from you even if they do really do care about you. Always be on guard always… ps. not all Thais are bad obviously..but it’s impossible to tell if your on holidays. Take Care and have Fun..

Just use common sense with strangers. It’s simple really. I’m not a bad person but if I met a rich person and I was poor…

but left a 1000 and a note that this is for taxi
    Bye, bye and kisses,

I don’t either I should cry or laugh in myself to what just happened

The point I see missing is of course they´re going to steal money and valuables if you don´t have your wits about you. Whether you´re in Central America or SE Asia the population is very poor. Whether it´s an IPOD in Mexico or your wallet in Thailand, the value is multiplied many times when it the local takes possession. If my family lived on $2k/yr and you dropped $400 with your drawers I would grab it too! I´ve always considered it a ¨local tax¨ when I get caught slipping. Easily forgiven since I didn´t wake up bloody and bruised in an alley and the only weapon was a sexy girl with a tight pussy rocking my cock until I needed a nap! WINNING!
