Indian Man Brutally Murders a bar girl in Chiang Mai

On 18th October, around 5.51 p.m, Chiang Mai City Police Station received a call that a woman had been brutally murdered at a guesthouse on Kochasarn Road, Chang Klan.

Police arrived at the scene with a rescue team and autopsy officers from Maharaj Nakorn Chaing Mai Hospital, where they found the naked body of a woman covered in blood on the bed, with a pillow over her face. Police also discovered pieces of a broken beer bottle, a used condom and the victim's underwear next to the bed, as well as an unused condom and bloody towel in the toilet, however police couldn’t find the victim's clothes.

The medical team checked the body and found bruises on her right shoulder and head. Her neck had also been tied with a rope and cut deeply with a piece of the broken bottle.

The body was later identified as that of Duangduern Harris, 41, a bar owner in the Loy Kroh area.

The investigation revealed that a guesthouse maid found the victim's body when she came to clean the room, which had been rented by a dark-skinned, tall Indian man who had checked in at around 7.30 p.m. on 14th October. On 17th October, a hotel worker claims to have seen the man return to his room with the victim.

The police have so far reported that the man met the victim at her bar and brought her back to his room where they had sex. It is thought he then tied a rope around her neck, cut her throat with the piece of bottle, and then suffocated her with a pillow. After that he is believed to have taken the victim's valuables before turning the air-conditioner to a very low temperature and leaving the guesthouse.

Police believe that the suspect is still in the area and a search is currently under way to arrest him before he leaves the country.

Chris's report:

The murder happened at a local guest house (I can't report the name of the guest house) the lady was working at the bar Behind Mandalay nightclub in Soi 2 called the Midnight Bar. Police on the scene were seriously disturbed by what they saw. The murder happened in room 204 on the third floor of the guest house (won't be saying in that room!) Once police arrived the other guest of the hotel quickly checked out.

I was told by the police not to mention it, plus it’s kinda bad to mention it I feel sorry for the guesthouse owner they’ll lose all their business over this and they did nothing wrong! Not really fair to them and those other websites mentioning the guesthouse should take the name down.

Yikes that’s gruesome, nobody deserves that. Some Farangs should not be allowed in any country, hope they catch him and …………!!!

Max, I agree with you that some Farangs should not be allowed in any country. But the prime suspect was not a Farang, he was Indian. A แขก “Keek” for Thai people if you like.
      Best Regards.

This isn’t really a news blog make it’s more about shit noone else really talks about online, sometimes I’ll do a news story if it’s close to home, but yeah you should probably read the articles in the crimes section and last story was about the guy who got tasered in a karaoke in Chiang Mai. Plus if you read the blog it’s unlikely you’ll ever get ripped off murdered or raped in Thailand so thanks for reading.

Scary & hope they get this piece of crap off the streets.

The womans last name suggests maybe she was married to a falang at one time?

    • keks420 October 21, 2012 at 7:04 am #

She was married to a white man. yes.
but she didn’t deserve him. she’s a prostitute.

Uncalled for. She was married, husband shot through about three years ago back to Germany and had not contacted her in any way since. Incidentally SHE gave him the money to go back thinking it was just for a holiday visit.

Doesn’t the guesthouse take photocopies or scans of passports of their guests? This would provide a name, passport number and a photograph of this asshole.

    • ChiangMaiGuy October 23, 2012 at 5:30 am #

this is the point – the guesthouse is actually breaking the law by not insisting on passport or ID copy and the owner/manager should be arrested for negligence
