It's full of information about Thai boxing training camps, what you need to be prepared for. What Muay Thai schools are good which ones are bad. What to prepare for before you get to Thailand. A lot of the information in this book is available nowhere else on the internet! This book isn't just about learning Muay Thai but also about the host country your going to be living in while you train. Thailand while more developed than most countries does have it's fair share of quirks. Knowing how to get a visa, how to choose the right Training camp are things you could learn by yourself, but the purchase of this book will save you considerable amounts of time and money!

If you decide to study Muay Thai in Bangkok or Chiang Mai you are lucky, there are heaps of professional Muay Thai training camps in these cities and nearly all of them have some sort of involvement with foreigners before. This is good for you considering the language barrier, however many people have said that these types of camps are a bit weak on foreigners and training is subdued. On the other hand leaving the big cities and going to a unknown training camp where you are the only foreigner, you will probably receive extra attention and the training will be much more rough than in the cities. If you also want to learn Thai then leaving the city for the smaller urban training camps is a much better option, but be prepared to feel a little lonely for the first 3 months when you can speak with no one. Typically that sort of training is for someone who has been in Thailand for a while now. But if you learn Thai before you get there you can be ahead of the game.

Having trained in Muay Thai for a few years as part of my MMA training, I really feel it’s such an incredible sport and I really need to get my butt into gear and start saving for a trip to Thailand to train in Muay thai with the people that developed it. It’s got to be cool to train in a place where such an awesome sport is appreciated on a national level. Some of my mates have been and loved it and said that the training was amazing. (One even had a girlfriend for a year although he couldn’t understand a word she said.)
