Everything to do in Pattaya that’s NOT SEX

I've been in Pattaya the past 2 months checking out all there is to do here. Last year I did all the sex places so I thought I'd check out everything there is to do in Pattaya that have absolutely nothing to do with sex. We can't spend all our time drinking and going to the nightclubs. There's so much more to Pattaya than just the nightlife but as for Pattaya becoming a world class resort city? What a joke take a look at all these places if you were searching the Internet for places to visit the websites for most of these activities and things to do in Pattaya are a joke. Most don't even have English some major attractions like the underwater world don't even have a website. Regardless of this some of these places are pretty cool especially if you've never done anything like it before or just want to take a break from mongering.

Everything there is to do in pattaya that has nothing to do with sex

Ripley's believe it not

http://www.ripleysthailand.com/

My best tip for Ripley's is to go in the morning and go on the balloon you get an awesome view of the city so if you're still up at about 7am definitely go check it out. Costs 400 baht but the view is definitely worth it.

Louis Tussaud's Waxworks

http://www.ripleysthailand.com/?p=waxworks

This is actually also in the same location as Ripley's in fact it is a part of the Ripley's but it's a different fee for entry so I'll include it as a different venue. It's pretty good but it's not that big if you've never seen it before and want to then it's worth it. If you've been to ones in other places in the world you might be disappointed.

Mini Siam

http://www.minisiam.com/

If they made this place into a Putt Putt golf place it would be awesome, it's still pretty good though and really close to the center of Pattaya just across Sukhumvit road. Great place for photos.

Nong Nooch Garden

http://www.nongnoochgarden.com/

Typical Thai style elephant shows but the main attraction is the Tropical Botanical Gardens which I honestly recommend everyone go visit. If you're with a girl she'll really like it there's heaps of places to take photos. Grab some food and sit in the gardens. I recommend going early as it's pretty hot walking around.

Go Karts

http://www.pattayakart.com/en/

There are two decent Go Kart tracks in Pattaya but the biggest and baddest is the one at Pattaya Kart Speedway. They have two tracks one for beginners and real racing circuit for professionals and amateurs alike. While this place is for Go Karts if you have to choose I recommend the off-road course on a quad much more fun!

Floating Market

Honestly I didn't think much of this place but it was sure a lot better than the two crap ones they have in Hua Hin. The food is good but make sure you get into one of those rafts and have the lady float you around to the best places to eat. It's hot so bring a hat! My advice is to get there at about 3:30 in the afternoon as there is a show that goes on for like 10 minutes which is pretty cool at 4pm.

Art In Paradise

http://artinparadise.exteen.com/

The Art In Paradise is an art gallery one which you've probably never seen the likes of before. This place appeals to the Thai's more than the Farang and the Thai price is 100 baht and Farang are 400. You become part of the picture at the Art In Paradise as huge murals on the wall are backdrop for some awesome looking photos.

Pattaya Shooting Park

http://www.pattayashootingpark.com/

Fishing, rock climbing, shooting, archery and zip lines the Pattaya Shooting Park is a great place and recommend to anyone. They have two shooting ranges one 25meters good for hand guns and another 50 meters better suited for rifles. It's not that far from the center of Pattaya as well.

Underwater world Pattaya

Writing this article has made me realise that Pattaya has a long way to get before they want to be a world class tourist destination. The Underwater World Pattaya website doesn't even work! In fact very few of on this list actually have a comprehensive website and amazingly enough no map that makes sense. You might like this place it's 450 baht for Farang to get in not that bad really but they don't have anything spectacular that you haven't already seen at other places like this around Thailand even the world.

Jomtien Beach

A little better than Pattaya beach but still dirty as anything actually the quality is going down year after year and while you can sit on the beach and feel a million miles away from the thumping of the go go's it's reserved for oversized russians who seem to think if you're 140kg you must wear a speedo on the beach.

Pattaya Beach

Jet Skis and para-sailing are really the only enjoyable part of the beach, sitting at the chairs you get the faint whiff of sewerage that seems to flow just underneath the road. The beach is littered with trash and people coming to sell you sunglasses, watches, clothes, come by all the time it's annoying but occasionally i'll sit down there get a coconut and wonder how lucky I am to be here instead of stuck in a cubicle waiting for the next earthquake to hit LA.

Pattaya Elephant Village

http://www.elephant-village-pattaya.com/

Having lived in Chiang Mai for years I've seen enough Elephants in my life that I haven't been bothered to go to this place. First time in Thailand sure come here anyone been please leave a comment at the bottom of the page let us know what it was like.

Pattaya Park

http://www.pattayapark.com/

This place looks straight out of a Sci Fci set in the 70's and that's when it was probably built. Pattaya Park has a few attractions and the Water Park there is probably the best thing. It has a few slides and a large pool that snakes around. While it's nothing spectactular it can be fun if you take the right people.

Mimosa Pattaya

http://www.mimosa-pattaya.com/

They call this place Mimosa Pattaya even though it's nobutt in Pattaya exactly not that it matters. There are lots of specialty shops and opportunities for the Thais' to take even more photo's for facebook. Some really nice clean places to eat here I recommend it just to get away. My Tip here is to get there about 6pm because there are shows there but only 3 times a day starting at 6:30pm.

The Movies

If there is absolutely nothing better to do you could always go to the movies and like I keep telling everyone if you're going to do something do it right! $45 for a movie ticket sounds super pricey but The Porch in Pattaya is totally worth it.

Tuxedo Magic Show

http://www.tuxedo-magic.com/

I love magic shows and Tuxedo I thought was great! I still can't figure out how they did most of their tricks and I guess that's what made it so awesome. Right near the bus station the Tuxedo Magic Show probably offers the best bang for your buck for Pattaya entertainment that has absolutely nothing to do with sex.

Dolphin show Pattaya

http://www.pattayadolphins-world.com/

Yet another major attraction in Pattaya that has one of the worst websites I've seen, they don't even have English and if it wasn't for my recommendation I don't know why anyone would go. But this place is pretty good little pricey but not a bad day out as long as it's not too hot as there are a lot of open spaces without shade. I love dolphins and they have some magnificent creatures here.

Dinosaur Park Pattaya

You can go here if you want but I honestly don't recommend it. I don't know what the owner was thinking but this place sucked ass. In fact I had more fun at Mimosa than this place. They have this ATV course which yeah OK I thought was going to be cool but it was so lame and half way through the course you couldn't go further because of this huge pool of water and had to turn around. So lame, you've been warned.

Zip Lines

http://www.treetopasia.com/thailand-holiday/pattaya

Not exactly in Pattaya but still a really fun day out, never done it myself but I went to the Gibbon in Chiang Mai and it was super fun. Not a cheap day out though at around 3000 baht you might want to go with mates instead of a girl.

Sanctuary of Truth

http://www.sanctuaryoftruth.com/

Honestly most amazingly beautiful attraction in all of Pattaya. The Sanctuary of Truth costs 500 baht to enter, but it's worth it. The architecture is amazing, and it's still not complete just yet kinda like most places in Pattaya they don't seem to be able to finish anything. That aside I recommend everyone go check out the Sanctuary of Truth.

The Million-Year Stone Park and Crocodile Farm

http://www.thaistonepark.org/

Want to get a photo of your head a crocodiles mouth? Then this is the place to go!

Silverlake Winery Pattaya

http://www.silverlakethai.com/Welcome.html

If you're a Wine Fan then a trip to the Silverlake Winery is a must but actually you don't even have to enjoy wine to visit they have an exceptional restaurant where you can eat your meal under the stars.

Three Kingdoms Theme Park

http://www.3kingdomspark.com/

Here's yet another place that charges Thai's less than Tourists 80 baht for Thai's and 150 for tourists I'm guessing residents are in a grey area by that wording but what's annoying is the extra baht doesn't go to adding any English.

The Sriracha Tiger Zoo

http://www.tigerzoo.com/

Who doesn't like Tigers right? Thailand doesn't have anymore wild tigers left but they still have plenty of these Tiger Zoos dotted over the country. I can't think of anyone who hasn't come to Thailand and got their photo taken with these most magnificent of creatures. If you havn't been to a Tiger park/zoo in Thailand and you're in Pattaya definitely check it out.

Bira Circuit

http://www.bira.co.th/circuit/home.php

Welcome to the fastest cars in Pattaya, well on race days that is. Definitely worth checking out especially when there is a race meet. If you're coming to Pattaya make sure you check out there site and see if anything good is going on. Motocross races I find way more exciting and recently they

If I've missed any interesting places in Pattaya that has nothing to do with sex then please leave a comment with the name and/or website of the place and/or activity and I'll add it to the list. Please no islands I will be covering them in a different post.

There are very few places in this list where I would go to. I don’t like to pay 3 to 5 times more than a Thai for the same thing. Whenever I get visitors I also avoid taking them to any place that has double pricing.

Don’t forget diving and snorkelling. Pattaya has some good coral dives and some amazing wrecks. I dived today with pattaya adventure divers and they really push the boundaries on wrecks.

There is also the ferry ride to Ko Larn with its beautiful beach that for only only 30baht.

    • Chris May 5, 2013 at 7:03 am #

It’s very easy to get sucked into this place once you’ve found the best hangouts that you like.

On the old style site when you (or anybody else) replied to a specific poster/comment, the reply showed up as attached to that comment, now it doesn’t seem to do that. Not as easy to follow.

        • Chris May 10, 2013 at 10:39 am #

Are you sure? maybe it doesn’t in mobile view i’m not sure but on my screen it’s still indented.

        • Johnnie Walker May 10, 2013 at 11:14 am #

It shows up in the right place but it is no longer obvious its a reply comment rather than just the next comment inline. Before it was obvious. Using a windows PC.

That’s good there’s lots of non-sex stuff to do in Pats, because there’s there very little worthwhile sex anymore! Just spent 6 days there, was going to spend a month. Walking Street: Girls are crazy mercenary, hardcore, prices thru the roof, girls don’t deliver when you do get them, overrun with Chinese and obnoxious Russian tourists. Chinese and Japanese are throwing money at the girls. Never seen such scamming, lying thievery in my life. Many bars with very few women, even less hot women. Soi 6 is the pits, went twice, not many girls under 22 and all very brazen, aggressive & high pressure vets. There’s my rant, thanks for reading.

Luckily I looked around a lot of these places; Sanctuary of Truth, Tiger Zoo, Mini Siam, Go Karts, Underwater World and Pattaya Park years ago when the entry fees were cheaper + it cost a lot less than now in real terms because I was getting around 70bht to the GBP versus 44 now.

Mini Siam is my fave. Been a few times, taken different girls. Its a good way to find out if they know anything. I stand in front of the sign and ask them what the model is and from which country. Some haven’t a friggin clue, others you can’t catch out at all.

A tip for visiting Mini Siam:

Go late afternoon. 4pm+ There is little shade there and it oppressively hot during the day. Have a leisurely walk around then sit down and have a coffee as it goes dark.
After dark all the displays are illuminated and it looks lovely. Walk round again but don’t forget your mozzy repellant.

If you don’t have your own transport to get back to town, you may have to stand by the highway in the dark for sometime before a white baht bus comes along. Get off at Pattaya Nua, (North) Klang (Central) or Thai (South) and transfer to a blue bus.

If you’re looking for this place its almost opposite Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, look for McDonalds.

      Thanks for the tips mate

70% of that list is low budget, low class, tourist crap that isn’t worth seeing.

There is honestly no real reason to visit Pattaya unless you are going to party until you drop or fuck until you drop.

    • Johnnie Walker May 30, 2013 at 9:20 am #

“70% of that list is low budget, low class, tourist crap that isn’t worth seeing”.

Howe many of them have you been to Steven?
